Soon we can look forward to enjoying the cooler temperatures and colorful leaves that the season brings. We also look forward to making life better for children and families that come to us for assistance. As this year is quickly flying by, we can easily say that it has been a year like no other! Since March, when the Covid-19 pandemic began to change what we call normal life, we learned to make adjustments in our daily lives. When the pandemic began causing job losses, calls to MCFS increased dramatically. We realized the need to act fast was imperative. MCFS sprung into action to help desperate families. We implemented the Covid-19 Emergency Relief project to assist those who are struggling. We quickly became recognized as a valuable statewide resource for Texas children affected by COVID-19. The impact COVID-19 has had on children, families, and our economy has been catastrophic. Jobs were lost, kids were unable to attend school, and virtual education became our new normal.
